This Friday I'm introducing you to the cloche. "the what?!" you ask? "Cloche" is actually a French word, meaning "bell", hence the bell-like glass shape. These have been used to protect outdoor plants from frost, and to force their growth for centuries (sharing my landscape architecture knowledge with you from my University days here, lol). Cloche's have been popping up in the home decor scene as they also double as the perfect decor item to showcase treasures in your home. They are made of dome shaped glass, with a base usually made of wood or marble. Bouclair Home has two sizes of them, that just so happen to be on sale right now! You can use them in the traditional manner to cover and showcase your plants on a shelf, or use them to cover fresh fruit or cheese and charcuterie on a dinner table. They also look great dressed seasonally, covering seasonal decor such as fall faux-leaves, and ornaments during the winter months (yikes, sorry, I won't speak of winter again until socially acceptable!)
Have a great weekend!
