The first DIY project I had for you is a recipe for luxoriously scented rose-infused bath salts. See the blog post for the recipe here if you missed it! The first DIY only requires two stems from your boquet, so I've got a second DIY will make use of the remaining stems!
The second DIY project I have for you is for Vanilla & Spice Scented Rose Petal Potpourri. This DIY is easier than you might think! You can follow along to my measurements below, or toss in additional herbs, essential oils, or citrus for additional filler- I give you full creative freedom! You can refresh your potpourri over and over again with a spritz of your favorite scent.
- petals from 8-12 rose stems
- Vanilla essential oil
- 1/3 cup of whole cloves
- 2 tbsp of ground cinnamon (or 8-10 whole cinnamon sticks)
- 2 tbsp of rosemary (or 8-10 sprigs of whole rosemary)
- 1 tbsp water
- spray bottle
- sheet pan
- parchment paper
Step 3: Line your sheet pan with a piece of parchment paper. Spread your petals out along the parchment paper. In the photos I am only using some of the petals just so you can see how I've spread the other ingredients in the next step. You can add all of your petals (it is okay that they overlap).
Step 5: Grab your spray bottle and fill it up with a mixture of one table spoon water and 15 drops of essential oil. Shake the bottle, and then spritz the mixture over your petals and spices. Make sure you keep a tiny bit in the bottle for later.
Step 7: Remove them from the oven, and spritz them again with the remainder of your mixture in the spray bottle. Leave them out to dry for 10-15 minutes (or pop them back in the oven for 3-5 mins to speed up the drying process). And ta-da! Add to a beautiful dish and sniff to your hearts desire. Remember you can always mix up 1 tbsp water and 15 drops of essential oil in your spray bottle to refresh the scent!
