Although the beaches were candy to the eye, I was just as taken with the Cuban architectural and design details! It was an 80 minute drive from the airport to the resort. We drove through rolling countryside as well as city. The walls and buildings are covered with muted, soft pastels, and crisp, white framing, with beautiful contrasting black light fixtures. Every home seems to have a front porch, complimented with outdoor rocking chairs. The windows are usually pane-less, with beautiful wooden or iron detailed coverings. I wish I was able to hop off the bus and tour around, as photos from the bus were not clear (I only had my iPhone camera with me this trip). However, our resort was built with the same architectural stylings, and I was able to capture some beautiful photos (my sister joked the entire time that I was coming home with more photos of light fixtures than of us)! I was so inspired by the Cuban architecture and design details, that I'm working on a few projects to introduce a little to my own home. Of course, I'll share them with you! Below are some of the photos I snapped.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I!
